Well our daily podcasts are going well so far.  We have a podcast for every school day since Sept. 24th.  I did the first couple of weeks but the students are taking turns recording the information for this week.  To upload the podcast is very easy however the actual recording can be a little intimidating.  I think it is easier knowing that only our class will be listening to them.  I know I have recorded and then rerecorded sections quite a few times!  This section of our classroom website is password protected so if you need the password again, let me know and I will send it home with your child again.

I received another question regarding the homework.  The question was about the reading portion of the homework.  The child should read the amount of time listed on the homework sheet.  I plan on it being equal to about 10 minutes per night.  However, the child may read the total amount in one night.  If the goal is to read 30 minutes for the week and they read that in the first night, then write it down and they are all set.  If they want to read more, that is fine too and they can write that down as well.  I will be looking for an adult’s signature so I know the child did read that amount of time.  If your child wants to read just 10 minutes each night that is fine too.  Whatever works best for your family that week. 

This year we will looking at soil.  So get ready to get your hands dirty as we look at soil.
